Triathlon Results!

Photo Credit: Jerry Greer. His wife is Angela Greer. Cristy has enjoyed meeting Angela and chatting with her at the races. I borrowed this picture from Jerry's website. Thank you, Jerry, for posting it. Cristy's family in Mississippi and Indonesia really appreciate it since we don't get to see her compete in person!

_______________________________________________

If you don't recognize the muddy knees of competitor number 36, that is Cristy straining up a hill in the Mountain Dew Triathlon.

Guess what... she won again this weekend!!!

Since I know she won't post anything on her blog, I will just post something on mine and brag a bit.

On Saturday, Cristy won her 3rd triathlon this summer! (And, since she has only entered three triathlons this summer, that means she is a 100% 1st place triathlon finisher! Yea!)

The three triathlons she entered (and won) were part of a four-triathlon series. The triathlon she did not enter was held the weekend they were headed to the beach for their vacation with the Lee family. Since she did not enter that triathlon and subsequently did not receive any points for entering, she came in 3rd in the overall results standing for the series. Yea, Cris! Way to go!

Many times over the past month, I have looked all over the Internet trying to find Cristy's triathlon results. Finally, I found something.

After many hours of looking, I finally found one website with some results posted. These results are current through the first three races (of which Cristy competed in two).

Cristy's name is listed about half way down the page as the first name in the women’s division. (As usual, her name is spelled incorrectly.)

Dane also competed in the races. We are proud of you too, Dane! Way to go! His name is also listed on the page. It is, of course, listed in the men’s division above Cristy's.

We are very proud of both of the mighty triathloners!!! :-)

Here is the link to the website:

Copy and paste the link info listed above into your address bar and click go. That will take you directly to the correct web-page. Or, you can go to the riversway website and click through the current results links until you can find the race results.

Okay, let me get this straight... that's 3ish miles swimming, a ton of miles biking and 26 miles running? Even if it's less than that, it's more than I could ever consider doing!!

Wow! You go Cristy!! I'm so proud of you!! I thought I was doing well going to spinning once a week in addition to my pilates classes. P.S. Angie, you and Cindy might like pilates...

Love to you all! Susie

Note to Susie... No, these were in the catagory of "sprint" triathlons. Definitely NOT Ironman length! Of the three races we competed in, the run ranged from 3.5 to 6 miles, the biking ranged from 12 to 18 miles, the the kayaking (rather than swimming) was from 1.5 to 3 miles. They took about 2 to 3 hours to complete. It was really a lot of fun! I think Dane is hooked... He keeps talking about the Ironman in Hawaii and says we need to race it next year (just kidding, of course)!!!

Hmmmm... In that case, I might be able to do one of those as long as someone else ran for me. :o) Any volunteers? I know I'm biking at least 10 miles each spinning class... Hmmmmm...

If you go to Hawaii, Mommy will go with you to watch the children and cheer. She's been looking for 25 years for a reason to go over there!!

I'm still really impressed and mighty proud!
