Key Ceremony

Bon sent this today.

"Yesterday I had the privilege of participating in a very special event that I thought I was just going to document… A “Key Hand-Over Ceremony” for houses we funded. You can see this happy gentleman’s keys to his new house in his other hand. I kept trying to imagine how they all must be feeling at a time like this… but just couldn’t comprehend the relief, excitement, closure of such a moment…

Now THIS is why love being a part of the work here!"

Triathlon Results!

Photo Credit: Jerry Greer. His wife is Angela Greer. Cristy has enjoyed meeting Angela and chatting with her at the races. I borrowed this picture from Jerry's website. Thank you, Jerry, for posting it. Cristy's family in Mississippi and Indonesia really appreciate it since we don't get to see her compete in person!

_______________________________________________

If you don't recognize the muddy knees of competitor number 36, that is Cristy straining up a hill in the Mountain Dew Triathlon.

Guess what... she won again this weekend!!!

Since I know she won't post anything on her blog, I will just post something on mine and brag a bit.

On Saturday, Cristy won her 3rd triathlon this summer! (And, since she has only entered three triathlons this summer, that means she is a 100% 1st place triathlon finisher! Yea!)

The three triathlons she entered (and won) were part of a four-triathlon series. The triathlon she did not enter was held the weekend they were headed to the beach for their vacation with the Lee family. Since she did not enter that triathlon and subsequently did not receive any points for entering, she came in 3rd in the overall results standing for the series. Yea, Cris! Way to go!

Many times over the past month, I have looked all over the Internet trying to find Cristy's triathlon results. Finally, I found something.

After many hours of looking, I finally found one website with some results posted. These results are current through the first three races (of which Cristy competed in two).

Cristy's name is listed about half way down the page as the first name in the women’s division. (As usual, her name is spelled incorrectly.)

Dane also competed in the races. We are proud of you too, Dane! Way to go! His name is also listed on the page. It is, of course, listed in the men’s division above Cristy's.

We are very proud of both of the mighty triathloners!!! :-)

Here is the link to the website:

Copy and paste the link info listed above into your address bar and click go. That will take you directly to the correct web-page. Or, you can go to the riversway website and click through the current results links until you can find the race results.

Weekend Pictures

I had to interrupt the vacation pictures to post a picture from this weekend of Daddy on his new tractor. We also got Mamaw to try out the tractor for just a minute. The other pictures were taken before church on Sunday. Daddy took the wrong shirt and ended up advertising Guaranty Bank at church. I went over to Mamaw Barton's house and visited with Mamaw, Marty, and Becky during the church hour.

Earthquake Relief

We missed having Bon around on our family vacation this year and I just didn't think it would be right to post all our fun vacation pictures without posting a picture of Bon and the reason she was not able to attend the vacation festivities...

Here is a picture of Bon in the earthquake region of Indonesia doing her thing...

Camping Photos

The scary looking one, second to the left, yes, that is me
on my 3rd day with no bath... this was an early morning
wake up coffee chat around the fire. Don't we look toasty
and warm? and, dirty... did I mention dirty...?

It's the follow up creek picture in the same spot as two
years ago... although, you can't see the creek swirling below
their feet. Doesn't everyone look cool, calm and collected?
oh... how could I forget... cute!

Having fun scooting and biking around the campground!

After Splashing in the Stream

After enjoying a fun time splashing in the stream with his
cousins, Daniel was ready to snuggle with his warm, dry
Mommy. A few minutes after this picture was taken, these
four headed back to camp to warm up the fire and the
hot chocolate. By the time I got back to camp with Cindy
and three cold cousins in tow, the fire was toasty and
Daniel was on his second cup of hot chocolate.
